John Huk Passed on: April 10th, 2016 John Huk, 85 of Whitney Pier passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at home, surrounded by his family. John was a lifelong resident of Whitney Pier, and member of Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church. John was employed with the Department of Community Services for 32 years. Following his retirement he was able to enjoy his many favourite pastimes. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and being in nature. John was often out and about with his faithful companion, Abby. He enjoyed travelling and was able to fulfill his lifelong dream of visiting the Ukraine and exploring his Ukrainian roots. John was devoted to his family, his wife of 59 years, Wanda and children, Stella Maria and Mary Anne. He was also devoted to his Ukrainian community. John was active in the art of Ukrainian dance from a young age. For 35 years he taught his love of dance and his Ukrainian Heritage to countless numbers of young people in the Ukrainian community. John was a founding member of the Ukrainian Catholic Men’s Club and for many years was active in the Ukrainian Choir. Many knew of John’s passion as an avid reader and writer. He used his passion to chronicle the history of the Ukrainian migration to Nova Scotia, and in particular Cape Breton Island. John’s labour of love was published in a book, Strangers in the Land: The Ukrainian Presence in Cape Breton which was published in 1986. The book was later updated and re-published by the Beaton Institute in 2013 to coincide with the 100th anniversary of Holy Ghost Parish. John’s passion for collecting and preserving the history of the Ukrainian community earned him a place as the church historian. John spent many a day entertaining the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the church’s founding families, many who had left Cape Breton years before. He readily shared stories and the community’s history with local school children, and anyone who wanted to hear. A lasting legacy to the Ukrainian community has been left through John’s collaboration with the Beaton Institute. A number of years ago, much of John’s collection was gifted to the institute to ensure that the history of the Ukrainian community, the culture and its’ families would live on long into the future. John is survived by his loving wife, Wanda; daughters, Stella Maria, Mary Anne (Shawn Fraser), Hubbards, and his three grandchildren who he adored, Kristen, Morgan, and Alex. John is also survived by his brother, Steve (Tania) Huk, Whitby, Ont.; sister, Stella, (Peter) Morash, Dartmouth; a niece, two nephews and a number of grand nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his father, William Huk and mother, Agnes, formerly Durkacz. At John’s request there will be no visitation. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Apr. 13, 2016 at 10 a.m. in Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church, Whitney Pier, with Fr. Roman Dusanowskyj officiating. A reception will take place at the parish hall following the memorial mass. Private family interment will take place in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John may be made to Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home. Online condolences may be forwarded to the family at www.pierfuneralhome.com <http://www.pierfuneralhome.com/>. Mary Morrison Born In: New Waterford Passed in: Sydney Passed on: April 10th, 2016 My best friend and soulmate passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney, with her family nearby. Mary is now free of her suffering of the past number of years. Diabetes has taken its toll. Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Grant and Hilda Campbell She is survived by me, Connie, her husband and the loves of her life, Paul (Muriel), Peter (Michelle) and Chris (Karol Ann); her brother and close friend, Lionel (Vivienne) also survives. Then there are our three amazing grandchildren, Connor, Kellyn and Grant, she was so proud of them! Mary was noted for her fantastic memory. She knew thousands of birthdays, anniversaries and events. Not only those of family and friends, but total strangers she encountered. Mary might forget your name, but not your birthday. She was always interested in meeting people, both friends and strangers and learning more about them and their families. We are all going to miss her smile and dry humour. A quiet, sweet lady with a beautiful voice, she sang at many weddings, anniversaries and other events throughout her life. She also sang with local bands, including The Roy Cumming Orchestra, The Johnny Aucoin Trio, The Lamplighters and Oland’s Saturday Night on CJCB-TV. She sang with local choirs, including St. Marguerite Bourgeoys’ regular and funeral choirs for over 60 years. Now she’s singing with the choir of angels. We are so grateful to all who showed their concern for her health over the years. Visitation for Mary Morrison will take place from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13 at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church with Rev. Bill Burke officiating. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks. DOUCET It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Russel Thomas Doucet (October 6th, 1936 – March 31st, 2016), 79 years old, at his home in Antigonish. Born in Cheticamp, he was the son of the late William (à Marcellin and Olive Aucoin) and Hèlène-Rose (à Thomas Doucette and Margaret Brewer). Russel grew up on the family farm in Point Cross. At a very young age, he ventured to Toronto where he and his first wife, Dorothy, raised their children. A devout Catholic, he was most happy surrounded by his loving family and many friends. He always looked forward, in great anticipation, to their annual vacation down home. We will always remember Russ for his kind soul, sense of humour and his passion for driving and cars. He was always ready for a road trip while listening to his country favourites. Most of his life he worked for Harrington Door and Lumber Yard. Later on, he followed one of his dreams and became a truck driver. He was known as a Jack-of-all-trades but specifically for his love of woodworking; his many projects, a true example of his great craftsmanship. Widowed and retired, he eventually returned to his native community. In later years, he married Margaret Chiasson and they enjoyed life to the fullest, especially loving to travel and camp. In recent years he became more of a homebody and was content to be making puzzles; watching his favourite football team, the New England Patriots; and of course, hockey as he cheered on Les Canadiens de Montréal. He enjoyed home cooked meals and never missed an opportunity to go to Dairy Queen for some ice cream. Russel was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Deeply saddened as we say good-bye, he leaves behind his wife of 20 years, Margaret; son Kevin (Diane), Toronto, Ontario; daughter Karen-Rybka (Darren), Mississauga, Ontario; stepdaughters Paulette (Halifax) and Debbie (Halifax), stepson Gerry Chiasson (Wanda), Antigonish; sister Therese (Gerard), Saint-Joseph-du-Moine, and brother Marcel (Mina) Bradford, Ontario. Besides his parents he was predeceased by former wife Dorothy (Cormier), sister Catherine Mame Brown and brother Gordon Doucet. Stella (Gaudet) MacAdam MacDonald On Saturday, April 2, 2016 a devoted nurse, generous mother, beloved grandmother and joyous great-grandmother 'Grand Nan' chose to succumb to illness in the palliative care unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Surrounded by family, friends, and the dedicated staff of 4E. Stella held all of her loved ones in her heart knowing she was blessed to have lived life on her own terms. As was her wish, she remained in her home throughout the course of almost 90 years (less 2 days in 4E), with frequent visitors for tea, knit and crochet offerings and of course her trademark wit and no nonsense advice. Rarely a trip out was made without catching up with one of her patients or co workers, after 42 years as a registered nurse at the Sydney City Hospital. Nan remained steadfast, making corrections of medical staff until 24 hours of her passing. No one from doctor, to charge, to one 'of her girls' was free of laughter and good ole fashioned nursing in her presence and under her supervision. She was dearly loved, by all. Mary Stella was born to Alphe and Julia Gaudet on May 21, 1926, a proud graduate of Holy Angels High School and later St. Joseph Hospital, Glace Bay in 1947. Employed by Royal Avenue Hospital and later the 'Old City', Stella cherished being a nurse. She was a gift to those she cared for, balancing toughness with kindness and a knack for seeing her demands met. Nair a patient would remain in bed under her care, with healing and humour in full supply. Stella married John MacAdam and gave birth to five children, 'supporting her profession' as often remarked. Brent (Gayle) MacAdam, Calgary, Debra (Bob) Stevens, Howie Centre, Shauna MacAdam, Sydney, Gerard (Joanne) MacAdam, Egbert, Ont.; Paul (Margaret) MacAdam, Mira. After John's death, she later married John MacDonald, becoming a widow after 16 short months. Stella's life remained full and busy through the birth of 11 grandchildren, who kept her travelling from coast to coast. She lived for the next graduation, engagement, birth announcement and answered proudly and swiftly to the names of Nanny Donald, Gramma, and even 'that old goat'. Many a sleepover night was spent on Lorne Street or Trout Brook Road at the bungalow, with late night confidences and a trust never broken. Later blessed with 14 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way, Stella waited eagerly for new pictures and updates. Right down to posing for a four generation picture, with Butter 'the boa constrictor', Grand Nan was a fierce participant in our lives, with every celebration. One of the Lorne Street ladies, with daily teas and trips to St. Theresa's for mass. Nan was always on the road, maintaining a busy social calendar. Her presence at weekly lunches, card games, crafting sessions, and those Sunday drives; coupled with visits to East Bay, Marion Bridge and Glace Bay, reunited with her fellow RN graduates, friendships fostered longer than most of us enjoy an earthly existence. From trips to Vegas and the UK to jaunts to Calgary and Toronto, Stella balanced her bucket list with family commitments. She was a member of St. Theresa’s parish, Retired Nurses Association, St. Joseph’s Alumni and RCL Branch 12 Ladies Auxiliary. A special thanks to all Stella's dear friends, family and those medical staff that attended her, adding to her happiness and comfort with calls, treats, treatments and shared remembrances. Know that your acts of friendship and kindness were cherished and often relayed, with a bit of mischief, allowing for a peaceful passing. We seek comfort in her reunion with those loved ones lost and the memories of those who remain to mark her passing. No visitation will be held, as directed by Stella, in no uncertain terms. There will be a funeral mass held at St Theresa's Church this Thursday, April 7th at 11 a.m. Fr. Lamey will officiate, with ashes to be interned at Resurrection Cemetery. For all who wish, an act of kindness may be performed in Stella's memory or a donation made to the Cancer Care Fund, at the C.B. Regional Hospital. Born on Dec. 30, 1930, in Churchview, Inverness County, Taylor was the son of the late Duncan and Mary MacKinnon, and was he last surviving of their nine children. Taylor spent his entire working life as a proud employee of Maritime Tel & Tel, where he held various positions in the company from lineman, repair and installation technician to business services representative. All in a career that spanned over 40 years. As a longtime resident of Westmount, Taylor’s commitment to his community and its various organizations was evident throughout his whole life. He was a Past Master of East Gate Lodge 127 and a member of the Philae Temple Shriners. Taylor also shared his love of music as a member of both the Cape Breton Masonic Choir and the Westmount United Church Choir. Ninnette Lorraine (Williams) Johnston Born In: Florence Born: January 12th, 1925 Passed in: Sydney Passed on: April 1st, 2016 Ninnette Lorraine Johnston would like to let you know that her work here is finished. On April 1, 2016, she received a call, a sort of offer you cannot refuse, for an appointment from which she will be not returning. It comes with a huge bonus: a reunion with family and friends whom she has not seen in a long time. Mom was born in Florence, C.B. on Jan. 12, 1925 to Martha and Robert Williams. She was named after the dear little village of “Ninette”, Manitoba. She grew up in a loving family with seven siblings, although all were not living home at that time. Though her career as a public school teacher was relatively short, she remained a ‘teacher’ all of her life, really. She welcomed many young people into her home and into the life of the family, but never lost the desire nor missed an opportunity to teach them valuable life lessons. Mom married the love of her life in 1945, Lloyd 'Kip' Johnston of North Sydney. They lived in Sydney, N.S., Lewiston, N.Y., Pittsburgh, Penn. and then moved back home to Sydney in 1976. She was blessed with many special friendships during her 91 years, especially the Braemar Drive/Sunrise Drive gang! She leaves behind her children Earl (Ann) Johnston, Sydney, Judith (Stephen) Mansfield, Mississauga, and Linda Johnston (Bill), Halifax; grandchildren, Laura Johnston, (Nick), Halifax, Meghan (Simon) Gough and great-granddaughter, Kenzie, Oakville, Douglas Johnston (Vicki), Halifax, Devon Paige Williams (Scott), Toronto, and two special “almost daughters” Janet Rowe, Halifax, and Pauline Cameron, Sydney. She is also survived by her sister Goldye Lyons, 101 years young, of Pictou and many nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband Kip, sisters Olive, Hazel, Dot and Cavell and brothers Earl and Chet. Heartfelt thanks to the amazing staff on the Creative Care unit for their love and kindness to our Mom during the almost two years she called it home. You are the best! Ninnette has been cremated with interment to take place at a later date in Brookside Cemetery, Sydney Mines. Memorial donations may be made to the Creative Care Unit of The Cove Guest Home, 320 Alexandra St., Sydney, N.S., B1S 2G1 or charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home. Mabel Louise Joseph Born In: Whitney Pier Born: October 20th, 1922 Passed in: Sydney Passed on: April 1st, 2016 On Friday, April 1, 2016, at her home on Townsend Street, where she and her loving husband David 'Dates' Joseph raised their 14 children, Mabel Louise passed away the way she lived with grace and dignity surrounded by those she loved. She was a wonderful, caring mother whose devotion to her children will continue on as a legacy to her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The beautiful, gentle, red headed matriarch of the Joseph family was truly an inspiration to all who knew her. Mabel was born in Whitney Pier on Oct. 20, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Beatrice (Hiscock) Heffernan. Mabel was a member of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys parish, (formerly St. Joseph’s). Mabel is survived by her sons, David (Christena), Cambridge Ont., Blair (Wendy), Bobby (Bernadette), Glen (Diane), Stephen (Helen), all of Sydney and Fabian (Dianne), Woodstock, N.B. and daughters, Darlene (Gary) MacLean, Albert Bridge, Cheryl (Kenny Miller) Chisholm, Cindy (Bruce) Doucet, Valerie (Danny) MacInnis, all of Sydney and Pam (Carter) Chapdelaine, Bedford, N.S. and daughter-in-law, Mary (Wayne Gentile) Joseph, East Bay. Nanny is also survived by her 30 adoring grandchildren, Bradley, Lynn, Colleen, Derek, Amy, Tami, Ryan, Stacy, Daryl, Deanna, Shane, Rebecca, Jesslyn, Jenna, Dylan, Kristin, Glenda, Melissa, Craig, Janine, Jason, Andrew, Brandon, Clinton, Nicole, Breagh, Rachael, Geordie, Michael and Katherine. Nanny Joseph was also the proud great- grandmother of Jennifer, Adam, Ben, Lily, Grace, Caden, Danica, Brody, Nate, Ty, Zoe, Mya, Josie, Lola, Drake, Rosie Mabel, Matthew, Roman, Vada, Allie, William, Isabella, Angus, Edward, Audrey, Cassie, Amelia, and Thomas. Her family will continue to grow with three more great-grandchildren on the way. Mabel is also survived by her sisters, Theresa Jacobi and Madeline (Raymond) Bona; sister–in-law, Henrettia Sampson and her companion, George Curtis and many nieces and nephews. Mabel was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years David 'Dates' Joseph and three sons, Bradley, Allan and Brandon; brothers, William, Richard, Thomas, Patrick, John, James, Michael and sisters, Phoebe Landry, Margaret MacNeil, Gertrude Hines, and Catherine Stapleton. She was also predeceased by grandson, David Nelson Joseph; daughter-in-law, Patsy Joseph; son-in-law, Mike Kravosky and sister-in-law and lifelong friend, Amelia Somers. Mabel loved people!! She grew up in Whitney Pier in a family of 14 and went on to have 14 children of her own and they truly were her pride and joy. She was in her glory when her home known to all as “the house,” was full of family and friends, the teapot was on, the kibbie was cooking and everyone was sharing and making so many special memories. Mabel was the presence that kept her family connected no matter what their age or where they lived. Her children and their families have always been close and this love and respect for each other reflect the values that she and Dates taught and lived every day. It was no surprise that it was at family gatherings that she shone. She always looked forward to the summer treks to the Crazy 8’s Resort in Marble Mountain where she enjoyed so many wonderful times. Games of scat and Newfoundland Bingo with “the girls” were always a highlight with bragging rights and a few nickels on the line. Another highlight of the year for Mabel was the Annual Christmas dinner at the Cedars Club. When the house on Townsend Street could no longer accommodate the crowd her family gathered at the club to celebrate Christmas and it was here that you could fully appreciate the role this amazing woman had in so many lives. Dinner always began with Mabel saying grace and the evening ended with all the kids wearing their new pajamas that Nanny was so happy to give them. She was so proud. Sports, particularly hockey has always played an important role in the Joseph family and Mabel was a big fan. She did not get to see too many of her older sons play, she was extremely busy on the home front, but when her kids were grown, she did not miss an opportunity to get out and support her children and grandchildren in their many endeavours. She could be found at the rink watching hockey or at the gym cheering on the dancers, basketball players and cheerleaders. She was a big Screaming Eagles fan but did have some conflict when the Moncton Wildcats came to town and she had a son coaching behind each bench. To solve this dilemma Mabel reached a solution the only way a mother could she had a hat specially made with a Wildcat logo on one side, an Eagles logo on the other. Just this week she was there to watch her great-grandchildren playing hockey in the kitchen taking shots at the stove. The tradition lives on. Mabel was a kind, gentle, woman. She raised her family with love and patience and none of her children can recall her ever raising her voice in anger. A simple reminder that Dad would deal with any issues when he got home was enough to make the horns disappear and the halos shine. All loved mom and she will be sadly missed. We are comforted by the fact she has joined her husband in Heaven and together they will continue to watch over us from above. God Bless. Visitation for Mabel will take place on Tuesday, April 5 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, 40 Cabot St. with Rev. Bill Burke officiating. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks. Teresa LeFort, CND - 91 yrs Mildred Isabel Bagnell Born In: Louisbourg Born: February 22nd, 1921 Passed in: Sydney Passed on: March 28th, 2016 Mildred Isabel Bagnell, beloved wife of the late Philip Edwin Bagnell and loving mother of Philip Clyde (Heather) and Isobel May (Charles) MacLennan passed away peacefully at Arborstone Enhanced Care on March 28, 2016. Born on Feb. 22, 1921 as the youngest of four children, and only daughter, of Enoch and Awilda Clyde (MacGillivray) Townsend of Louisbourg. She lived through remarkable times. While still a child her parents were required be admitted to the Tuberculosis Sanatorium in Kentville, N.S., leaving her in the care of her brothers (Bill, Jim and Frank). Her memories of their loving care and the protective relationships her brothers developed with their baby sister persisted through each of their lives. She married our Dad on Aug. 2, 1940 with him in army uniform and our country at war. This love affair seemed to grow through each of their 71 years together and it is impossible to discuss one without the other. After the war they moved to Halifax with their two children where Dad began his lifelong career with London Life Insurance Company and Mom became the caring and ever present anchor in our daily lives. Appliances, such as the washing machine to replace the scrubbing board and the refrigerator to replace the ice box, eventually appeared in our home, but it was only on reflection as adults that we realized our mother never gave indication any of this created inconvenience or hardship. She was active in the women’s group at Edgewood United Church and it seemed as if most of the student ministers from Pine Hill Divinity eventually found themselves at our Sunday table for some of Mom’s great cooking. Dad’s transfer as regional manager in Moncton, N.B. in the mid-fifties brought new experiences for Mom along with the challenges of raising two high school children. During this time family trips and vacations were our most anticipated events. Living in a cabin in Fundy National Park and taking trips to P.E.I. on the Abegweit were combined with other adventures in the exploration of our maritime provinces. Such trips always meant there would be nights of competitive games, laughter, Mom’s food and, when needed, her firm redirection if competition was getting out of hand. Dad was transferred back to Halifax in the mid-sixties before returning to Sydney as district manager. During these years Mom continued to provide wonderful food and hospitality for friends, relatives, business associates and the growing families provided by her now married children. These were wonderful years for her. She and Dad could be seen wandering hand-in-hand at Louisbourg, Kennington Cove, Gabarous and other scenic sites and vacation spots on their beloved Cape Breton Island. Frequent family gatherings with grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a plus that always appeared to add a sparkle to her eyes. For the last 30 years of their lives together they became committed Florida Snowbirds and looked forward each year to joining with many of their Nova Scotian friends in a warmer climate. We wish to thank Dr. Paul Murphy for the exemplary care he delivered to both our Mom and Dad during their years in Sydney and Dr. Lewis and the dedicated staff on the second floor of Arborstone Enhanced Care for the competent and compassionate care our Mom received there over the past two years. In addition to her son, Philip and daughter, Isobel, she is survived by her much loved grandchildren, Alexa (Patrick Keefe) Bagnell, Jeffrey (Nancy) MacLennan, Scott (Suzie) Bagnell, Sheridan (Greg) Bailly, Christina MacLennan, Kurt (Susan) MacLennan, and Regan (Paul Yeatman) Bagnell and great-grandchildren, Connor, Ian and Grant (Alexa), Jordan, Zac and Carter (Jeff), Mac and Annika (Scott), Sawyer, Olin and Thatcher (Sheridan), Isobel and William (Christina) and Emily, Matthew and Olivia (Kurt). The family will celebrate her life with friends on Sunday, April 3, 2016 from 2 to 4 p.m. (with service to follow at 4 p.m.) at S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. Internment will be in Harbourview Cemetery, Louisbourg. Catherine Rebecca 'Betty' MacDougall Born In: Inverness, Canada Born: July 1st, 1932 Passed in: Sydney, Canada Passed on: March 30th, 2016 It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of a most gentle woman, Catherine Rebecca ‘Betty’ MacDougall. In the early hours of March 30, 2016, with her loving husband George by her side and surrounded by her family, Betty left this world and went into the waiting arms of the Lord with the same grace and dignity with which she lived her life. Born in Inverness on July 1, 1932, Betty was the only daughter of the late Catherine Marie ‘Katie’ (MacIsaac) and Neil Gunn Finn. Betty and her only brother Stanley shared a special bond as siblings and as very dear friends. Growing up in Mabou, Betty attended school at St. Joseph’s Convent. In her early years she taught school briefly in West Mabou before moving to Windsor and Montreal where she worked with the Bank of Montreal. After moving to Sydney she enjoyed her work with Scotiabank, Holiday Inn and Sears. She made friends wherever she went. Betty first met George at the age of thirteen at a baseball game in Mabou. Their romance blossomed and on July 1, 1957, she married the love of her life. They made their home in Sydney where they raised their five children and lived all of their married life. Betty enjoyed travelling with George over the years. While she saw the beauty of scenery and nature everywhere, most of all she loved returning to the beauty of Cape Breton, its culture and people. Betty loved life and spending time with family and friends especially in Strathlorne and Judique with some of her favourite people. She loved having a good time whether it be in quiet moments or in gathering with friends and family, enjoying life, laughter and some good old Scottish music. We all have our own fond memories that will remain with us forever. Betty was a gentle, kind and caring person who loved deeply and unconditionally. The love shared between Betty and George was amazing. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy and she never missed an opportunity to brag about their accomplishments. Generous with her time, advice and most of all her hugs and affection, we will miss her with all our hearts. She is survived by her most loving and devoted husband George; her children Jean Marie (Wayne McKay); Claire (Garney) Westhaver; Ken (Amy); Brian (Ann-Marie); Wayne (Denise Howatson); her dear brother Stanley; sisters-in-law Esther Finn and Kathleen MacDougall; grandchildren Kyle (Maria), Amanda, Jarett and Jordan MacNeil, Michael and Alexander Westhaver, Maelyn MacDougall, Shamus and Keelan MacDougall, Cody and Keegan MacDougall, Brett Rendell; great-grandson Eliot MacDougall; special son Eric Goulden; dear cousin Janet MacEachern who was like the sister Betty never had; and by several cousins and extended family. She was predeceased by her mother and father-in-law Jean and Bert MacDougall and several sisters and brothers-in-law. The family would like to extend very special thanks to Dr. Susan MacLeod and Dr. Steven MacDougall and all the staff of 3B of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their care, compassion and kindness. Visitation for Mrs. MacDougall will take place on Friday, April 1 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, 40 Cabot St., with Rev. Bill Burke officiating. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
