    3. Hi Marilyn, You might also want to try your post on Rootweb's list on the Great War: GREATWAR@rootsweb.com. If I may also suggest, that list's subject involves several countries records so you would be wise to make sure you man's ethic origin is spelled out, as well as when he joined the "British air corps" (which may or may not be the correct name.) Good luck in your researches. Malcolm Archive CD Books Canada Inc. Apparently it was awarded to my great uncle, who flew with the British air corps in WW1. He was an ace, having at least 8 'kills'. The mention of this was in a Vancouver newspaper article after the war. No date on the paper. > He was also awarded the DFC, and the Italian Croix de Guerre. I have found that information. > But have not been able to locate anywhere anything by this name, including google, wikipedia, and WW1 military sites. Nothing on the British medal site, Italian medals or with the Canadian medals. > He also served early in the war with an Red Cross Ambulance outfit as a driver in the Salonika campaign, before becoming a pilot back in England, flying mainly Sopwith Camels over Italy. His name was William Myron MacDonald, born in CT, of Nova Scotia parents, raised in Vancouver, died in San Diego. > Thanks for any help, > Marilyn, Los Angeles
