Thanks to Jocelyn, Vickie and Carol, I now know he wasn't either of these men... so I'll have to focus on the Thomas Robinson who married Elizabeth Benton in Yorkshire...trouble with chases like these, is that they died in "foreign" countries, and their children unfortunately died young, so ancestors in the UK may have lost track of them.
