William Schurman, Loyalist from New Rochelle, New York, who settled in Bedeque, P.E.I., in 1784. He had eleven children. His youngest son John, left the Island in 1823 and settled in River Philip, Nova Scotia; John's youngest son Samuel, moved to Mt. Denson, married a Shaw and had a daughter Ethel Schurman who married John William Wolfe, born 14 Oct. 1872 in Milton, Ma. USA, died 6 April 1954 in Windsor, Hants County, N.S.. I am interested in any information on John William Wolfe's father John Wolfe. He was married to Laura Duncanson. Thanks in advance for any help. Alan

What is your source for the John Wolfe and Laura Duncanson marriage? If it occurred before 1864 it is probably not in NSHVS unless a marriage bond had been made. Per NSHVS found at https://www.novascotiagenealogy.com/ a John Wolf who married Laura Duncanson 13 Mar 1873 in a Baptist church in Horton, Kings County was age 23, born and residing in Falmouth son of Charles and Mary. This marriage does not agree with an 1872 birth year for a son. Ethel Schurman age 18, residing and born in Mount Denison and John Wolf age 23, son of John and Laura residing in Hantsport born Boston MA were married in a Baptist Church in Horton on 19 Feb 1898. The birth date for John William Wolfe comes from his age in his death record. The surety for a birth date in a death record is low. Searching familysearch.org I do not find Laura √, Wolfe, with spouse John √ living living in MA in the 1880 or 1900 Census nor NS in the 1881 Census I do not find John and Laura in the 1891 or , 1901 NS or PE Census.
