    1. [NS-L] Mr. W. Latham, Westville,
    2. I believe I have solved the mystery by way of ncestry.com and the NS Historical Vital Statistics.. My grandfather's MOD service record contained the wrong information. Winnifred (Eatwell) Ettwell was not his sister, she was his cousin, and she married Edward Latham of Westville, not a "W. Latham." Sh was the daughter of Thomas Eatwell and Emily (Joels) Eatwell. Arthur Joels knew her as a "sister" because he had lived with her family in Newport, Monmouth, Wales since the age of 3 (b. 1907)...he was an illegitinate child. His mother had been a house servant in a fairly well-off Hertfordshire home (1901), and perhaps either the master of the house, or the butler, had their way with her! Mum won't be thrilled...but there ya go! I wonder if there is diplomatic way of contacting the familes of the two men and perhaps do some DNA testing?
