Hi all, I am working on the following family: Duncan McPhail (born abt 1836 in Nova Scotia) and Annie Farquharson were married on March 15, 1864 in River Dennis (Dennys). In the 1871 Canadian Census they have 4 children Alexander (abt 1865) end up in BC we believe. Margaret (abt 1866) & Jeanette (abt 1868) John (1871) ended up in Saskatchewan. There may be one more son. On the census Jeanette (born abt 1795 in Scotland) is listed with the family and is a widow. One of the family stories is one of the girls drowned when she was 12, the other died after having a child. The boys were split up because the parents died but it is possible the family came to Manitoba before the parents died. There are different trees on Ancestry but no sources are given with them. I have tried the historical BMD but could only find John's birth (giving us Annie's maiden name & marriage date/place). So I am looking for suggestion on what next steps I can take to find more information on Duncan & Annie's parents. The family seems to be in the River Dennys area of Inverness County. Hi everyone, I just returned home from the Stone Reunion in St. Peter's, Cape Breton. It was a wonderful event. While there, I learned that the St.Peter's Morrison Reunion is this weekend, so I thought I would send this quick email out, incase there might be listers who are descended from this Morrison family.
