Hi John: The Horowhenua FHS (in New Zealand) had published an excellent list of WWI abbreviations used by the commonwealth countries - available at http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nzllbsg/pdf/Abbreviation_Master.pdf You could also try googling "WWI abbreviations" and "WWI Australian abbreviations" - some of these might be specifically Australian terms/shortforms. Taking a stab for a few, I'd say: "M/I to 15th Tng.Bn. Hurdcott" - marched in to the 15th training brigade at Hurdcott?
