Ben: I have recently done Loyalist research in NYS as well. I found a book online that gave me my ancestor's signature, but I do not see O'Dell there, as it was Kings CountyHowever, in looking at a reference the author mentions for signing the Standard in Suffolk County, it might be you could find the Standard for Westchester. First, the book I found is http://archive.org/details/revolutionaryinc00onde (signers pg 166, Submission of Kings County) This book above is just Suffolk and Kings County, with the list for Kings given and for Suffolk reference to source. On page 18 the author quotes the content of the Oath for Suffolk County and refers to the many Loyalist supporters who signed in Suffolk Cty and where the list may be found. On searching that source - Peter Force's American Archives - I found http://www.hopefarm.com/peforce.htm -- Now I cannot tell which particular Volume has the signers for Westchester but perhaps with some further checking here or contacting the phone number top of page, one might find that county record. The individual volumes can be purchased for download for $7.00. Hope you can find your list. I so appreciate www.Internet Archive.org. What a wonderful asset to research to find so many old historical books that I would not know where to begin to find or be able to access in any of those distant libraries. Daniel Odell, yeoman, is listed as a United Empire Loyalist and he owned some 250 acres in Clements Township when he executed his will on 16 Nov. 1813 (will said to be proved on 15 Jan 1817; I know he passed between 26 Nov 1816, the 2nd dating of his will, and 15 Aug. 1818, when his widow petitions the court). Daniel married Elizabeth, maiden name currently unknown to me, and, assuming Elizabeth is the mother of all of Daniel's children, they had, order uncertain: Urial Odell, perhaps the eldest son and child; Phebe Odell - Phebe married Mr. Preston; Mary Odell - Mary married Marcus Brundage; Daniel Odell [Junior]; Abijah Odell; Artemus Odell; Jacob Odell; David Odell (will proved 25 Mar. 1828); Enoch Towner Odell; Rachel Odell; Elizabeth Odell; and Maria Odell. I have seen on the County Clerk's website for Westchester County, New York that the Odell surname is cited numerous times in the land records (but I haven't been able to get any further since the site is either under construction or tells me my computer doesn't have Java, which it does). I haven't had any luck going to www.familysearch.org or www novascotiagenealogy.com either. Thank you. Ben Moseley ---------------------------------------- Basic List Commands: 1.
