Hello Folks: I am looking for info. on the Carmichael Family of Kings County, Nova Scotia, Canada. James Knox Carmichael, DOB: 07 July 1789 taught school in Kings County, N.S. in the early 1800's. During his lifetime he moved to Hants County, N.S. (Noel Shore area). He was from Londonderry: ? Ireland or ? Colchester County, N.S. James wifes' first name was Jane, last name unknown. One of his children James Allen Carmichael married Albina ?. James Allen was born circa 1826 in Cornwallis, N.S. Died: 09 Sept. 1871 age 45 years in Welsford, Kings County, N.S.( Source NSVHS ). James A. and Albina Carmichael had two children known to me. 1) John D. Carmichael DOB: circa 1852 DOD: 12 Jan. 1923 age 71 yrs. (Source NSHVS) single at time of his death (NSHVS), unknown if he ever married 2) Robert Burns Carmichael DOB: circa 1853 DOD: 14 Sept. 1871 age 18 yrs. (Source NSHVS) bachelor at time of his death (NSHVS) James Allen Carmichael and his wife and children John D. and Robert B. lived on a farm in Kings County. The farm was located in Somerset, Kings County. All of these place names are mentioned Berwick, Welsford and Somerset. I believe these place names are close together. James Allen died on this farm (09 Sept. 1871 cause of death: inflammation) as did his son Robert Burns (14 Sept. 1871 cause of death: typhoid fever )) and also son John D. (12 Jan.1923 cause of death: exposure, frozen to death ). Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated. Judy Wile
