Merry Christmas everyone. I thought it might be fun to share with each other Christmas foods from long ago and probably still served today. Just put your county in the subject. My grandparents were born in Yarmouth in the 1800's and came to Massachusetts. These are some of the foods, goodies, they always served here. My grandfather sometimes referred to custard or pudding as "gap and swallow". Anyone ever heard this? Plum pudding with hard sauce (White frosting kept in the refrigerator, rolled like a rolling pin and sliced) Molasses cookies, large and soft with no sugar on top. Piccalilli..........I think some of you call it Chow Chow today. The best blueberry pies and muffins. Mince meat pie, made with venison from Nova Scotia. Kids loved it until some great aunt told them what was in it. Cynthia
