Barb, I too am descended from Samuel Reed and Sarah Harvey through his son Duncan and Jerusha Post. I suspect this Samuel and Sarah Reid are unrelated. Or at least I have not found any such relationship in the Duncan Reed descendants. The spelling of the surname was fluid for a while. Samuel's name is Reed on his gravestone in Wolfvillee, while his brother Ezra, two stones over in the same cemetery, spells it Reid. My Samuel Reid family settled in Pictou Co about 1851 then onto Springhill after 1881. He was a miner. Samuel Reid first married Janet MacLeod 1871 and had a family.
