I'm interested in the following family's connection(s) to Nova Scotia. Two Robertson children who died in California indicated their mother's maiden name was FORSHNER. I've constructed a probable family for them as follows: John W. ROBERTSON born January 1842, carriage maker, married Drusilla/Drusa D. FORSHNER, born June 1847, about 1870, place unknown. Census and Massachusetts birth records say they were born in Nova Scotia. They were in Massachusetts for the birth of their first two children, but moved to California by 1877. John died between 1900 and 1910. Drusa was still living in California in 1920. Children were 1. Annie Maude (26 February 1872 - 20 December 1949) born Boston, MA; died San Francisco County, CA; married John S. PURDIE about 1899. John was born in Iowa about August 1873. They had daughters Marian (c1901- ) and Gertrude (c 1906 - ) 2. Almon Sylvester (30 April 1874 - 7 November 1947) born Boston, MA; died Alameda County, CA; married Alice L. between 1910 and 1920. 3. Alice W. (1880) or Helen W. (1900), born April 1877 in California 4. Fred A. (26 November 1879 - 19 December 1961), born California, died Alameda County, CA; married Matilda between 1910 and 1920 None of them are listed in Valley of the Remsheg (Cumberland County).
