Thank you to everyone else who replied to my original message. My next question to ask is whether it's possible to find living descendants of Eric Armstrong and Martha Stevens, considering that you cannot look-up birth information until 100 years have passed. As it was a neighbour who was the informant of Eric's death I'm assuming that he had no family in the vicinity, at the time of his death. I'm waiting to hear from the Herald (as per Shirley's suggestion) whether there was an obituary, which might gives some clues of living relatives. ****snipped**** Jill, Other than the info from Nova Scotia stating Eric's parents, do you have any further info regarding his parents' names? Mother's m/s perhaps? There are a couple of John ARMSTRONGs who are seamen, on the 1891 & 1901 census. One or two I ruled out due to ages (19y etc), but so very hard to say exactly which may be Eric's. There is a Ruth ARMSTRONG living in Wales in both census, as well. Wonder if she is his Mum? She isn't living near Eric though. If I recall she is further north, nearer Caernarfon (Canarvon). Would you like that info? If so, I can send it tomorrow, although you would not see it until very late and/or Saturday morn. Might also be worthwhile going to the library (if you are able), to look at a more detailed map of Worcestershire to look for Farnhill. As mentioned in a previous message, I did find a Fernhill Heath, but as you no doubt know, there could quite possibly be a Farnhill nearby or somewhere just south of Worcester. Cheerio the now ~ Toni
