I believe Stephen Tuttle and his five sons were the first of my line in NS. The Tuttle family branch that settled in Southold on Long Island, NY used the Tuthill spelling, but that was not very common in NS as far as I know. It happens that my wife's family, which were Weatherbee folks were in the same community and area in NS. Of course, that name was spelled in various ways, including Weatherbie, Wetherbe, Wetherby and other variations. I have found that children in the same family used various spellings even though they had the same parents. I guess there was at least one Pingree family that owned a farm there in NS. The original name was Pengry, but almost everyone adopted the Pingree spelling. Lastly, there was one Stetson in NS at some point, so you might find one of them in NS. I realize that my four names may be deemed excessive to request, so Tuttle, Weatherbee, Pingree and Stetson would be the order of importance to me if I have to cut my request list down. I am patient, so whatever you can do would be just fine with me. Thanks in advance for your willingness to help others in their genealogy research.
