May 28, 1982, Pawtucket Times, Pawtucket, Rhode Island Edna C. Smith, 50 Year School Teacher: CUMBERLAND- Edna C. Smith, age 96, of 2830 Mendon Road, died Thursday. She was the daughter of the late Harvey and Margaret (Sproull) Smith. Born in Nova Scotia, she and her sister lived at the home of her sister-in-law. She was a teacher in Woonsocket schools for 50 years before retiring from the Harris School Faculty in 1955. She was a member of the Woonsocket Teachers Guild and the Rhode Island Teachers Association. She was one of the oldest members of First Baptist Church, Woonsocket. Her sister, Isabelle, and sister-in-law Margaret, are her only immediate survivors. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at home.
