Hi Betty: It has been reported that several functions in FTM will not work under VISTA; HOWEVER, they are not functions that most people use frequently, and there is a patch that will fix the problem. Really, the trick is not to upgrade to the latest Microsoft Operating System until it's been out and "field tested" for a year or more (at least in MY opinion). I was forced to buy a laptop with Vista pre-installed for my daughter going to college this fall. The college required a laptop, and suggested XP professional. Well, can't buy a NEW laptop with anything but Vista on-board. Answer: I formatted the laptop hard drive and installed XP Professional. It works great! I've been a beta tester for Microsoft on three occasions of OS releases and, to be honest, I usually wait until the first couple of service packs have been released, before bothering to upgrade. Ever since "Chicago" (for those of you not familiar, that was the beta version of Windows 95), I've realized it's far safer to wait until the public has moaned and groaned enough to get MS to fix all the bugs inherent in their initial releases.
