Muriel, Roll Call can be helpful in finding out if anyone has any of your names or is researching one of your surnames in your area of interest. People tend to go with their main line names, so don't often give much data on lateral names - which in turn could be your main line. Some of my folk won't be in the 1911 census as they had died and in a few cases several of their children had moved out of Canada. A Roll Call can help to re-connect these lines. Twice on other lists, posters had put forth two lateral names from my Mum's side. As both were rather unusal surnames, I made contact immediately. One was a 2nd cousin. The other a 2nd cousin to another of my 2nd cousins. You just never know. Toni ~ Ontario

    3. Hi Muriel - a good suggestion and automatedgenealogy is a great site. However, my husband's great grandmother, Sarah Jane CRAFT was born around 1844 and I have no idea as to which province I should check. In the 1871 USA census she is listed as emigrating to the US in 1860, and I have found her and her husband and children in 1871 and subsequent census in Maine. Her maiden surname I have ascertained from her 1922 obituary, but in all places her place of birth is just Nova Scotia. I am hoping that the roll call might help me find others on the list who might have CRAFT as a side branch or twig, or who might be able to help me in my search for Sarah Jane.
