Is there any kind soul in Pictou that can check out the newspaper obituaries of the Pictou Advocate that I believe are at the Hector Centre in Pictou? I'm searching for the death, obituary of one John McIvor, McIver who was the postmaster at Cariboo River, married to Flora McQuarrie. I believe that he died about 1893, as that is the last date of his being the postmaster there, and in the 1901 census of Cariboo River, his name is listed with his wife and family, but, it is also crossed out and his wife Flora has been changed to Widow. Still searching for this John's parentage, to pin it down to his mother being Jessie MacDonald of Pictou. Thanks for any, and all help, Marilyn, Los Angeles
