    3. European commercial interests were active in what is now Nova Scotia for several generations before Columbus. I'm not picking on you or anything but it is time that Columbus myth be put to bed. One little clue about this is when the French met Mi'kmaq in 1604, the chief Messamouet spoke fluent French. French, Spanish, Breton, Basque and other peoples had seasonal, ressource extraction, settlements in many parts of Atlantic Canada.
