<canadaeast.com> -The Telegraph-Journal, Saint John, N.B., Friday, June 22, 2007. MacKINNON, MURIEL ALFREDA - of Lower Sackville, passed away peacefully June 20, 2007 at St. Vincent's Nursing Home. Born March 12, 1921 in Sydney, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Roderick and Hester (Hollett) MacKinnon. She was educated in Woodville, Nova Scotia, graduated from Modern Business College, Kentville, N.S. Muriel had a long career with the Farmer's Co-op in Woodville, Nova Scotia, and retired in 1987 from the Municipality of Halifax, Social Services Department. She enjoyed her church, books and travel. She is survived by her sister Rita Fisher of Saint John, New Brunswick, several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one sister, Anne Parker; two brothers William "Bill" MacKinnon and Douglas MacKinnon. A memorial service will be held at St. Vincent's Nursing Home Chapel, at 3 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2007. Donations may be made to St. Vincent's Nursing Home. Her family would like to thank Dr. Steetha, the 5th floor nursing staff and clergy of St. Vincent's Nursing Home, for their kindness and support during her stay.
