A U.S. Senator asked him quite sardonically "Where is Pugwash?" (Eaton was born at Pugwash NS.) "Why Senator," replied Eaton, "everyone knows Pugwash is exactly halfway between Shininicas and Tatamagouche!" The Americans were left scratching their heads!
