Eastern Chronicle, New Glasgow, N.S., 22 Oct 1942: MacKEEN- POLSON The United Church manse at Bass River was the scene of a very pretty wedding on Wednesday afternoon, October 14, when the pastor, Rev. Grant MacDonald, united in marriage Stuart E. MacKeen of Aspen, Guys.Co., and Miss Lillie Mae Polson of Goshen. The bride was attractively attired in a street dress of dusty rose with brown accessories, and wore a corsage of roses. Guests present included the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Polson, also Vincent MacKeen, brother of the groom. After supper at the manse the happy couple left to spend a honeymoon in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx HARTLING- LOCHEAD A quiet marriage ceremony was performed at the manse of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Westville, recently, with Rev.Dr. G.S. Mitchell officiating, when Hazel Lochead, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Lochead, Granton, Picrou County, was united in marriage with Samuel Hartling, Cariboo, Pictou County. Following the ceremony the bride and groom returned to the home of the bride, where a wedding supper was served and later they left on a wedding trip to Prince Edward Island. They have taken up residence on North Street, Westville, following their honeymoon. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx PAMENTER- GOULD A wedding took place at North Grand Pre on Saturday that is of great interest to many in New Glasgow, when Vivian Gould, daughter of Mrs. Vernon E. Gould, North Grand Pre was married to Eugene Pamenter of Bridgewater, at present a popular member of the staff of the Branch of the Canadian Bank of Commerce here. Miss Gould , was before her marriage private secretary to Hon.John A. MacDonald, Minister of Argriculture in the Provincial Government. Miss Gould was in the department for the past seven years, five of which she held the position of secretary. On her retirement she was honored by her departmental associates when members of the staff at Halifax and Truro gathered in the office of the minister and presented her with a chest of flat silver as an expression of appreciation for unfailing efficiency and courtesy and with best wishes for the future. The presentation was made by Mr. MacDonald.
