Thursday, 22 Oct 1942 BROWN - NICHOLS A wedding of interest to many in the province was solemnized at King's Church manse, Loch Katrine, on Saturday, Oct.10th at 7 p.m. when Jannetta Myrtle Nichols, R.N., youngest daughter of Mrs. Martha Nichols and the late James Nichols of Lochaber, became the bride of John James Brown, son of Mrs. Grace Brown and the late John Brown of Lochaber. The ceremony was performed by Rev.A.J. MacDonald. The bride was attired in a smart ensemble of bunny wool with brown accessories and touches of green and her travel coat was of camel wool. Her attendant was Miss Elizabeth MacDonald, R.N., of Milton, Mass., and the groom was attended by his brother, William Brown. After the ceremony the bridal couple left on a motor trip. L.R. Bent of St. James' Church, Pictou, officiated at a quiet wedding at the rectory recently whrn Florence Dunbar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Dunbar, Abercrombie, Pictou County, was united in marriage to AC2 Jack Vince, R.A.F., formerly of Yorkshire, England, but now stationed in Nova Scotia. The bride was attractively dressed in a street length dress of air force blue crepe, worn with navy accessories and a fawn coat. The attendants were Jean Ross of New Glasgow, and Edwin Whooten, Stellarton. After the ceremony the bridal party motored to the home of the bride's parents, at Abercrombie, where a wedding reception was held. Later Mr. and Mrs. Vince left for a motor trip to various points in Prince Edward Island. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Tuesday, 27 Oct 1942 DORSEY- COOKE Halifax A lovely wedding of much interest to Pictonians, took place Thursday evening, Oct.22, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Spurgeon Cooke, 362 Robie Street, Halifax, when their eldest daughter, Josephine Howe, became the bride of L.A.C. Frank J. Dorsey, R.C.A.F., son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dorsey, Borden, P.E,I,. The impressive ceremony was performed by Rev. M. MacIntosh, of St. John's United Church, Halifax. To the strains of the Lohengrin's wedding march, played by the bride's sister, Miss Victoria Cooke, the bride entered the room on the arm of her father. She was attended by Miss Emily Rogers, of Millstream, Pictou County, who wore her C.W.A.C. military uniform. The groom was supported by his twin brother, James Dorsey, of Halifax. Following the ceremony, a reception was held. The bride received a silver fox neck piece from the groom. Pitcher of Stone, became the wife of Gunner Gordon MacLeod, R.C.A., son of Captain Leslie MacLeod and Mrs. MacLeod of New Glasgow.
