    3. Eastern Chronicle, New Glasgow, N.S., 27 Oct 1942: Mrs. Frank Worth has returned home from a visit to Halifax where she was the guest of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Dorrie. Miss Myrtle Sutherland is home again after being a patient at St. Martha's Hospital, Antigonish. Rev. W.R. Carpenter, retired Baptist minister, Eight Island Lake, will be in charge of the Baptist churches in this field during the winter months. Mr. Carpenter was pastor of this charge for a great many years and is everybody's friend, and we welcome him always, whether in the pulpit or in our homes. Mrs. Alex Johnson, her daughter Elsie and sons George, Albert, Louis and James were week end visitors with her mother, Mrs. George Hirschfield. Miss Florence Meyers, Stormont, spent the past week here. visiting her aunts, Mrs. Lawrence Mason and Mrs. Harry Mason. Mrs. Margaret Salsman of Stormont has been visiting relatives and friends in the vicinity and has gone to Antigonish where she will spend the winter. Mr. Malcolm Mason is home from Trenton for two weeks. Mr. George Harris and son Walter, were home from Pictou for several days visit. Mrs. Alfred Hayes and her daughter Alfreda who is spending some months with her father, spent the past two weeks at her home in Issac's Harbor, while her husband was home from Halifax on vacation.
