I don't know if anyone else has had this probelm, but I figure the squeaky wheel gets the grease, so I have sent the following to National Archives/Library Canada. If anyone else has had similar problems, and knows of some"fixes" I'd love to hear 'em! Jay Underwood Elmsdale Dear sir or madam: I have just spent a very unsatisfactory session on your website "Canadian Directories: Who was where" attempting to locate several names in Hutchinson's Directory of Nova Scotia 1866/67. This session was made immediately fruitless and exasperating by the inclusion of "nlc008157" in the search terms, which I did not place there, and which I can only suppose is the reason why so many pages turned up without any references to the names for which I was searching. For example, when I typed in "Myra"as a search term, I was given page 467 of the directory (Page 482) by your pagination) with absolutely no "Myra" listed. For "Gray, Lewis" I was given 21 pages to search , many of which were advertisement pages with no indication of either term on them. In all I was searcing for seven names, to find proof of their residency in Nova Scotia, and the vagaries of your search engine made it an unrewarding task. Do these problems arise from my computer, or some failing of your system that might be fixed?
