    3. Digby Weekly Courier - Friday, 18 September 1931 - Page 1 - George R. Pineo - George R. Pineo of Digby, widely known throughout Nova Scotia, passed peacefully to rest at his home on Monday afternoon. The deceased who had been in poor health for several years, was born at Canard, 73 years ago. He was an Anglican and very prominent in church and social circles and had always taken a deep and active interest in public affairs. After the death of his wife, he removed to Digby and purchased a residence about one mile from town on the Lighthouse Road where he resided with his son, St. Clair. He had a pleasing personality which endeared him to many, a warm heart and an indomitable will; of ceaseless energy, he battled for years against an insidious disease. He is survived by three sons, Charles, Assistant General Manager of the Royal Bank of Canada, Montreal; Hollis, of Spokane, Washington; and St. Clair at home. The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon. Note: His death in the vitals is under George Richard Pines, and the informant is Richard St. Clair Pineo. He was the son of George Pineo and Mary Munroe (?).
