His DOB listed simply as Sep-1844, Upper Prospect, and parents listed as John Power of Up. Prospect and Mary Jane White of same. He was buried 31-May-1921 at Mount Olivet Cemetery. His wife, Ann, had predeceased him. Annie died 02-Feb-1912, showing residence as Harris St., showing DOB as Sep-1856, at Prospect. Guessing prob. just 10 years off! Parents listed as James and Rebecca Coolin of Upp. Prospect. She was buried at Mt Olivet Cemetery on 04-Feb-1921. About four months before her husband. Power, Coolen, White, Duggan, and even Purcell names in Upper Prospect go back a ways. 1846 and 1848 School returns show several families. Go to: http://www.prospectvillage.ca There are a few researching POWER, and a couple researching COOLEN and couple more researching WHITE lines in Prospect. The POWER name likely goes back to Peter, Maurice, and Roger POOR. COOLEN appears to have originated as COOLING, with James. (prob. also seen as "Cowling") COULD also be that the WHITE line goes back to Sam (Samuel?) http://www.prospectvillage.ca/historicalDocuments/birthRecords.html (some birth records) http://www.prospectvillage.ca/historicalDocuments/deathRecords.html (may find some here) In the school records for 1836, is listed as Rebeah Duggan, aged 12, d/o Pater (Peter?) Duggan. That would put her born @1824, which would surely seem probably given Ann's YOB. 1881 Canada Census for Up.
