    1. [NS-L] "N.T." abbreviation?
    2. jbro66
    3. Has anyone encountered the abbreviations "N.T." as a title and/or have thoughts on its meaning? I have an obituary from 1937 printed in an Irish newspaper that mentions this title in the following context: "Mass cards were received from.....Miss Jane Doe, N.T.; Miss Mary Smith, N.T.; Mr. John Brown, N.T." None of the names preceeding these names have titles. I do not believe it is a reference to geographic origin. The title is used for 2 women and one male so is not gender specific. I have tried googling with no luck. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    3. Would "National Teacher", a teacher in a national school, make sense in your situation? 3. Since this is about receiving "Mass cards", could these initials simply reflect a location? If no location is listed for the others, perhaps it was because they were "local". If it IS a location, and within NS, then perhaps something like "New Tusket". Or, if from outside of NS, perhaps "Northwest Territories"??? It's less likely what I had thought before opening the e-mail.... "New Testament". :-) Enjoy solving this little mystery!
