    3. Friends, I am looking for the location of LEMON HILL in Nova Scotia. It appears not to be a village as it is not listed in Place-Names and Places of Nova Scotia. Have an idea it may be in Cumberland County. Seems there may be a hall or Legion there. Thanks, John

    3. John, I don't know the answer to your query -- the only reference to "Lemon Hill" I see in my files is in Jennie Reid's "Musquodoboit Pioneers", where the following appears: %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% James Drady James Drady took up a grant of 300 acres in Middle Musquodoboit on March1, 1787. His grant was west of John Braden's. Three men, John Braden, James Drady and Patrick Creigh each took up grants of land on March 1, 1787 and next to each other, this makes it appear they knew each other quite well and were perhaps friends in Ireland before coming here around 1783. James Drady worked in Halifax as a carpenter and his will refers to carpenter tools. If he lived in Musquodoboit it was for a short period. Then in Upper Musquodoboit William Drady took up a grant of 88 acres on Mill Lake. James had 3 sons and 3 daus. Duncan - no record. George - no record. Margaret md Daniel Daye and is buried in Pioneer cemetery. d Jan. 27, 1897 age 67. Mary md. William Chamberlain- no record. Susannah md. ----Farnell - no record. William Drady first lived in Dean then moved to Mill Lake. PAGE 260. Some of the first Dradys are buried on brink of hill by Mill Brook on Mill Lake. David Drady, father d. July 20, 1855 age 51 yrs. Harriet Lemon (sister of William Lemon of Lemon Hill) etc. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Whether this is of any significance to your search, I cannot say. 3. John: Lemon Hill is close to Upper Musquodoboit, NS in Halifax County. The closest community is probably Dean Settlement.
