    3. Eastern Chronicle, New Glasgow, N.S., 12 Nov 1942: KENZIEVILLE Mr. and Mrs. Harold MacDonald and family have moved to Plymouth, which is much regretted by all their friends here. They will be greatly missed and everyone hopes they will return sometime in the future. Miss Betty Greene, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Greene sustained a nasty accident when she had the misfortune to cut her wrist severely on Sunday, Nov.1st. The cut required 4 stitches to close it. We regret that Mr. C.H. Dennis is confined to his bed for the next two weeks, owing to a heart condition. Mr. J.W. Greene who is working in Pictou was home over the week end. Everyone enjoyed the picnic in the Hall on Tuesday. Miss Margaret Bannerman of the New Glasgow Teaching staff spent the week end at her home here. Mrs. John Forsythe, Thorburn, spent a few days recently with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allan Cameron. The yearly United Church "get together" was held in Kenzieville Hall, Nov.6th. After a business meeting a social hour was enjoyed by all. Refreshments were served by the ladies of the congregation. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx LITTLE HARBOUR There will be service in Little Harbour Presbyterian Church on Sunday, Nov.15th, at 3 p.m. conducted by Rev.S.J. MacArthur of First Presbyterain Church, Stellarton. Mrs. H.M. Semple of Halifax, has had a painting accepted by the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, now holding its Sixty Third Annual Exhibition at the Toronto Art Gallery. Mrs. Semple was formerly Miss Margaret Doty of Yarmouth and was recently elected President of the Nova Scotia Society of Artists. Douglas Slater, R.C.A.F. has successfully passed his examinations as radio technician at McGill University and is visiting at his home in Roachvale, Guysboro Co. He is a graduate of the Provincial Normal School and taught school for a year and a half before enlisting in the R.C.A.F. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx PERSONAL Mr. Gerald Hamm has gone to Inverness on a business trip. Ruth Johnson, R.C.A.F., W.D., returned to Halifax after spending the week end in town, guest of her friend, Miss Jessie Langley, Granville Street. Mrs. J.H. Sutherland, Mrs. Leonard Williamson and Mrs. Wm. MacKay were in Westville Tuesday afternoon, attending the funeral of the late J.W. MacLeod. We regret to state that Mrs. Ernest MacKeen of Sherbrooke is a patient in St. Martha's Hospital, Antigonish. We trust our very good friend will soon be able to return home completely recovered. Mrs. J.G. Thompson, Terrace St., has returned from a very pleasant visit with her friends, Mr. and Mrs. David Graham, Antigonish. We regret to state that Mrs. Thompson's daughter, Mrs. Rod MacLeod is ill with rheumatism. Her many friends will wish for her recovery in the near future. Word has been received that Sergeant Air Gunner Harry MacEwan, R.C.A.F., was injured overseas with no particulars given as to the nature of the accident. He is a son of ex-Councillor Thomas MacEwan and Mrs. MacEwan, College Street, Westville, and his wife resides on Victoria Street. Sgt. Air Gunner MacEwan has three other brothers serving with the forces, and still another brother is in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Mrs. Alexander R. Gordon of New Glasgow announces the engagement of her daughter, Helen Fraser, to Gregory William Lovett, R.C.A.S.C.
