I am trying to prove a Mayflower descent and all three possibilities go through Charles and Eloise (Burke) Atkins of Port Medway, my 2g-grandparents. I would like to find documentation to prove that Charles Atkins is the son of Charles Atkins (1794 - 1879) and his wife Mary Foster (1797 - 1856) and that Eloise Burke is the daughter of Joseph Burke (1792 - 1846) and Susannah McLeod (1795 - 1868). Primary records are sparse in that time frame and the families were Baptist, which limits church records as sources. I have a very graphic newspaper account of Charles Atkins death in 1852; it mentions his father (unnamed), his brothers (unnamed), his wife (unnamed) and his two daughters (unnamed).
