The Eastern Chronicle, New Glasgow, N.S., Thursday,17 Sep 1936: STEIN- SULLIVAN The marriage took place in Montreal on Saturday, Sept.5th, of Miss Grace Sullivan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Sullivan, West Side, New Glasgow, to Mr. Charles Stein , of Montreal. The marriage was quietly celebrated in the presence of intimate friends and after a short trip they moved into their new apartments where they are very happily situated. The best wishes of many New Glasgow friends will be extended to Mrs. Stein and her husband for every happiness in the days to come. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx MUIRHEAD- McLEAN The marriage of Miss Mary Isabel McLean, daughter of Conductor and Mrs. William McLean of Stellarton to Mr. John Morris Muirhead of the New Glasgow Post Office staff took place at the home of the bride's parents last evening. The ceremony was performed by Rev.D.M. Grant, minister of St.John's-Sharon Church in the presence of immediate friends of the couple.Following the ceremony and supper and being showered with good wishes Mr. and Mrs. Muirhead left for Moncton by motor. The bride has a host of friends in her home town and she was the recipient of many beautiful wedding gifts. Mr. Muirhead is a member of the staff of the New Glasgow post office and in popularity occupies a happy niche in the town. The newly wedded couple will reside on Brookside Avenue. The best wishes and congratulations of a legion of friends are extended to Mr. and Mrs. Muirhead and may their future life be an unusually happy one. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx RANDALL- SULLIVAN An extremely pretty wedding was celebrated yesterday afternoon in the presence of intimate friends of the contracting parties, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Sullivan, West Side, when their daughter Martha Lorraine became the wife of Mr. Albert Randall, formerly of New Glasgow and now of Siscoe, Quebec. The bride was given away by her father and the happy couple stood unattended in a room very charmingly decorated with flowers. The officiating clergymen were Rev.N.D. Kennedy, minister of First Presbyterian Church, assisted by Rev. Cannon Fraser, rector of St. George's Church..The bride , a very beautiful girl, looked exquisite in blue velvet and carried a corsage bouquet of of red roses. Following the ceremony a buffet luncheon was served, and amid a shower of congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Randall motored to Lawlor's Lake to spend a few days. On their return they will revisit their home town for a brief stay and proceed to their new home in Siscoe. Mr. Randall is secretary to the Manager at the famous Siscoe Gold Mines, in Quebec. Curiously this mine is situated on an island, and those who are employed there are a very happy and select group and enjoy a little world to themselves and into that pleasant surroundings Mrs. Randall will be assured of an enthusiastic welcome, for she possess the charm to grace any company. The bride was the recipient of many very lovely gifts from her wealth of friends and, they certified to the place she occupied in the life of the younger set of her home town. Mrs. Randall's going away dress was of brown with hat, shoes and stockings to match. She also wore a brown coat with fitch collar.
