    1. [NS-L] Seeking a Weinacht/Whynot Family Bible from Upper Northfield, Lun. Co.
    2. Pat Smith
    3. Hi Listers: A Weinacht/Whynot Family Bible recorded the birth of Leon Jerret Whynot , in Upper Northfield, Lun. Co., 24 Jun 1892; s/o Edmund & Alice Whynot. The Bible entry was viewed and an affidavit signed to this effect by Justice of the Peace H.M. Bowlby in Kingston, Kings County, 8 Aug 1956 [NSHVS Reg.Yr 1892, p.99100057]. It seems very likely that this Family Bible is still around somewhere, as it had already been kept for over sixty years at the time of the affidavit and may actually be several generations older than the information known to be recorded in it. Does anyone have any knowledge of the whereabouts of this Bible, please? I am trying to confirm the birth date of a first cousin of Leon Jerret Whynot, Blanche E. Whynot, d/o Zephaniah & Bessie Whynot, who was supposedly born 28 Jun 1893, in Upper Northfield. In the 1891 Canadian Census, Zeph & Bessie were enumerated at River Hebert, Cumberland Co. and then they appear in the 1900 U.S. Census for Rumford, Oxford Co., Maine. Zeph and Bessie appear to have circled back to Zeph's home in Upper Northfield, where Blanche was born, before heading down to Maine, where the name later became Whynaught. I am contacting Museums, Gen. Societies, NSARM, and other likely sources directly. In the meantime, here's hoping that someone on the lists might be able to help. Thanks, Pat Smith, Lunenburg
