    3. Hello, I was looking through the archives of the List this morning to see if anyone else had an interest in David and Sarah MacDONALD of Nine Mile River. * And I came across an old posting of mine from 9 years ago. It offered the names of the families who took in some of the "Home Children" in 1874. I thought I would repost it in case it would help someone: http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/nova-scotia/2001-01/0980513950 If I'm remembering correctly, the 5 CORKILL children and 4 LEWIS children all went to different families in different towns, and possibly in different counties. My great-grandfather, "Stanley" LEWIS, was an only child, so the 3 LEWIS girls on the ship with him were probably not related. The older of the girls married; I've never found additional information on the younger girls, who went to MASON and JACKSON families (and possibly a 2nd unknown family). My great-grandmother, Mary CORKILL, actually arrived in 1875 and went to one family than I think she went to live with the MacDONALD family. ("Stanley" and Mary married in Truro in 1879.) Stanley worked at the "Colchester Sun" as a teen, and I wonder if their marriage announcement would have been mentioned. Betty (near Lowell, MA, USA) * There is a researcher in Canada who has been on this List for probably over 10 years. She was one of the children who lived with David and Sarah MacDONALD. She has some information on them, and she is the one who provided me with "old photos" of my great-grandparents about 9 years ago.
