Hi list. Does anyone know if you could go to the DRL in Lunenburg and look for records in person? The birth record I`m looking for ( in the 1830`s ) has never been microfilmed. I went to the FHLC and found this: Film 0928971 Items 15-17 contains a transcription of the Anglican, DRL/Presbyterian, Methodist and NWR Baptist churches in Lunenburg and Liverpool. Contains communions, baptisms, 1770-1819, marriages, 1770-1818 and burials, 1771-1818 for the Dutch Reformed Church (translated from German), and baptisms, 1837-1870, marriages, 1837-1855, and burials, 1837-1854, for the Presbyterian Church.The Dutch Reformed Church in Lunenburg became a Presbyterian Church in 1837. Does anyone know what happened to the 1819-1836 records? I found a History of the Presbyterian church in Canada but it is somewhat hard to find and navigate in it. DesBrisay says Mr Moschell returned to Germany in 1837 but there is no mention of any destruction of the church or records. I thought someone recently posted a message with web site that shows the churches with their record status.
