Eastern Chronicle, New Glasgow, N.S., Thursday, 15 Oct 1942: PORTER - JONES The marriage of Miss Marjorie Jean Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Jones, 28 Mott Street, Halifax, and Garfield D. Porter of Halifax, son of Mrs. Porter of Stellarton, took place in St. Mary's Glebe, Halifax, Monday, Oct.12, Rev. Leonard Meehan, officiating. The bride wore a brown crepe frock, a Camel hair coat, brown accessories and a corsage of Johanna Hill roses. Mr.and Mrs. Alexander McNeil were the attendants, and the latter was attired in a blue suit with matching accessories and a corsage of baby mums. Immediately after the ceremony Mr.and Mrs. Porter left on a trip to Niagara Falls, through southern Quebec and Ontario, and have now taken up residence at 23 South Park Street. They were the recipients of lovely wedding gifts. Mr. Porter is with the Canadian National Railways and the bride has been an employee of the Robert Simpson Eastern Limited. Out ot town guests at the wedding included the groom's father, David Porter, Stellarton and the groom's aunt, Miss Martina Porter, of Westville. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx LANGILLE - HENDERSON Pictou Rev.L.R. Bent, rector of St. James' Anglican Church, officiated at a quiet wedding here recently when Florence Jean Henderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Henderson, Toney River, Pictou Co., was united in marriage to Alfred Gordon Langille, son of Mr.and Mrs.Malcolm Langille, Pictou.
