    1. [NS-L] I have probably asked this before....

    3. But are there libraries outside of Halifax...yes, Nova Scotia is more than just Halifax!! (preferably in the valley) that would have obituary microfilms for 1961 to 1992?   I have a really large list and would like to look them up myself and not have to pay people to look them up for me or beg volunteers.  It gets frustrating.

    1. [NS-L] 3rd Battalion
    2. Wilf Morley
    3. Hi everyone: I have a photograph or a collage of pictures of the 3rd Battalion Royal Canadian Regiment. It is set up as a Christmas card and Happy New Year. The Christmas is 1901. It was among some memorabilia that my wife's family had. It would have to be from someone in the families of either Bollivar's or Slauenwhites. There is nothing in any of the families records that someone was in the army at that time. If anyone can give me some information on this battalion or is interested in the photo let me know. Cheers, Wilf

    3. Hello Isabelle, The Halifax Chronicle Herald published the following obituaries (but I don't know if any of them are for the particular Charles and Gerald that you mention):  - Charles Trider (Dartmouth) - obit. publ. on Sep 27, 1969  - Charles Trider (Dartmouth) - obit. publ. on Dec 7 & 8, 1978  - Gerald E. Trider (Halifax) - obit. publ. on May 9 & 10, 1984 You can get copies from the Herald itself, but I believe the Spring Garden Road Library has a much more reasonable fee (perhaps $5 per obituary) or you can visit the library (or NSARM) and get the obituaries yourself for free. 3. Hey everyone, Just curious if anyone has ever come across the place name of SANBORN. It must be in and around the Halifax area as in most other documents the place of birth is listed as Halifax but I am thinking its somewhere between Halifax and Prospect somewhere on the Chebucto Peninsula? Is it an early name of an area around Herring Cove/Sambro/Prospect? I looked through Placenames of NS and found nothing. Something in the back of my mind is that its a mistake. Thoughts? Nat
