Hi John: I have just asked a family member who is a warden at St. John's about any amalgamation. St. John's church is about to be rebuilt near the Kearney Lake Rd. and Hammond's Plains intersection. Will let you know about the cemetery. ----- Original Message ----- From: "John D. Thanks to all those who responded to my inquiry re: 3 Mile Cemetery. Turns out it's St. John's Anglican Church Cemetery at Fairview Cove. It was so named because it was at the 3 mile mark on the Halifax - Windsor Road. The church has been torn down and the cemetery may have been amalgamated into the Fairview Lawn Cemetery. I appreciate the help. John John D. Wilson Windsor, NS

Tracing female ancestors. Cemeteries online have spousal duplicated photographs. This means a photo of a stone which also has the spouse's maiden name showing, is duplicated and when one searches using the onboard search engine, for a surname, the spouse's surname will be reported as a separate "search result". * 2. Cemetery records. Over the past 13 years this website has been instrumental in breaking down many researchers' brick walls. In addition, many folks have travelled to cemeteries which are onboard, to "walk" the cemeteries. Please note that on some cemeteries we have included the "record holders" contact information for the township, town or city cemetery. * 3. Missing cemeteries. If you don't see a Community and its' cemeteries online...it means we have not photographed the cemeteries in that area. Would you or some of your family or friends be interested in helping out by photographing your local cemeteries.? * * FEEDBACK ******* * We are always interested in feedback from Visitors to the website. I believe I have solved the mystery by way of ncestry.com and the NS Historical Vital Statistics.. My grandfather's MOD service record contained the wrong information. Winnifred (Eatwell) Ettwell was not his sister, she was his cousin, and she married Edward Latham of Westville, not a "W. Latham." Sh was the daughter of Thomas Eatwell and Emily (Joels) Eatwell. Arthur Joels knew her as a "sister" because he had lived with her family in Newport, Monmouth, Wales since the age of 3 (b. 1907)...he was an illegitinate child. His mother had been a house servant in a fairly well-off Hertfordshire home (1901), and perhaps either the master of the house, or the butler, had their way with her! Mum won't be thrilled...but there ya go! I wonder if there is diplomatic way of contacting the familes of the two men and perhaps do some DNA testing? Norma, I know you probably have this already, but since I have BRITTAINs mixed into my lines, and both spellings are tossed back and forth, I thought it quite interesting when I found your Joseph under two death records at the NS Vital Records website: Things that make you say "Hmmm...!" Joseph BRITTON, died, 27-Jul-1872, Halifax, aged 69, b. Rawdon, s/o Thomas Britton and Kather.., of Rheumatic Fever of the heart, informant was Georgina Britton, wife. Joseph BRITTAIN, died 27-Jul-1872, Halifax, aged 69, at Provincial Hospital, of Prostatic Cancer. A Dr. Sutherland was the informant (no POB or names of parents). Suspect the 2nd entry may be a correction on the COD for Joseph, as it is the doctor's entry. Just thought it interesting in either case...
