Is there anyone researching these names in Hants County? Or, does anyone know the origins of the name and whether the 'CH' variation is just a transcribing error? I have William Walter RICKARDS born in 1766, but don't know where. He married Ann SENTELL in 1783 in Falmouth, Hants County. Don't know when he died. Looking for his parents and where he was born, etc. Thanks, Virginia (Ward) Bergmann Researching Hants County surnames: WARD, MOSHER, CALDWELL, LOWTHERS, BERRY _________________________________________________________________ Windows Live Hotmail. Hello Bob, Thank you so for the entry, it is truly appreciated! It now seems it can't be my Priscilla, I had the family that you mention in the 1901 census as the same family, but now it looks like I must have it totally wrong? I found a birth entry on Ancestry for a George Henry PATTERSON - 27 Oct 1878 - Parents: Joseph H Patterson & Priscilla Lonsdale BUDGE (Lonsdale being her aunts married name & Budge her maiden name). Searching the census, the 1901 family was the only possibility. Sadly, I know that my Priscilla was the daughter of Rev Henry BUDGE & Priscilla HOSKING. Thank you once again. Heather, according to the 1901 census Priscilla Petterson was born 15 June 1851, and was the wife of Joseph Patterson. The Vitalstats web site, has the death of Mrs. Joseph Patterson on April 29, 1922. But according to her death certificate, her parents were Charles Lathrop and Susan Maling.
Hi Heather: I have no idea what you are looking at, but the actual inscription is from the Highland View Cemetery, New Caledonia, Queens County, NS and reads somthing like: Priscilla Patterson 1851 -1922 I say "something like" because the people who did the transcription that I have at hand neglected to transcribe the day and month portions of the inscriptions (where they existed). Also, since the listing is sorted alphabetically, I cannot tell you who is buried next to Priscilla PATTERSON. What I can tell you is that the following PATTERSON's are buried Highland View Cemetery: Priscilla Patterson 1851 - 1922 Joseph A. Patterson 1850 - 1933 Richard K. Patterson 1860 - 1947 Selina E. Patterson 1858 - 1939 Wife of Richard K. Charles A. Patterson 1892 - 1977 Clara B. Just to let you know… The only way you should be able to get two messages from a rootsweb list is if you have subscribed to the List and to the Digest. However if you have two different addresses and and one address, say work, is set to forward mail to the other address, say home, you can et duplicates. If you have tried to subscribe twice from the same address, mailman should not let you subscribe twice. Go to rootsweb.com > passwords and find out what lists you are subscribed to. If you are somehow subscribed twice, write to Nova-Scotia-admin tellg her that somehow you are subscribed twice and she will unsub one of the addresses. bob gillis
not sure which list someone was looking for Craft but here is an obit sorry if yopu get it more than once. bessie CRAFT, Daryl Lloyd CRAFT, Daryl Lloyd - Maitland Bridge. It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Daryl Lloyd Craft on May 1, 2007. Daryl was born in Saint John, N.B., on December 23, 1930. He was a son of the late Andrew and Ethel (Noddin) Craft. Daryl proudly served his county for 41 years, first with the Royal Canadian Navy and later with Parks Canada and the Canadian Coast Guard. Daryl joined the navy in 1949. For 25 years he traveled the world on-board many of Canada's finest fighting ships. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and served in the navy until he retired as a Chief Petty Officer in 1974. Upon his retirement from the navy, he moved his family from Halifax to Maitland Bridge, and worked for the next three years with Parks Canada at Kejimkujik National Park. In 1977 he returned to city life and joined the Canadian Coast Guard, where he retired as a Training Officer in 1990. Those of us lucky enough to know Daryl will remember him as a generous man who loved life, his family and friends, his community and his country. A man who understood the world he lived in, he reveled in talking politics and was never short of an opinion on just about every aspect of world affairs. He was a voracious reader who never stopped educating himself throughout his life. His creative nature always had him busy with some kind of project. He was a skilled woodworker who loved his workshop and who built his own home. He was an avid outdoorsman who had a great love for, and knowledge of, nature. He was an accomplished artist who was still drawing and painting to his very last day. He was Past Master of The Lodge of St. Marks No. 38 in Halifax and Past Secretary of Mechanics Lodge No. 78 in Caledonia. Daryl is survived by his wife, Dolores (McKee), and his children, Andrew (Sindy) and Adrienne; his sister, Marion Ferris, Saint John, N.B., and his brother, Robert (Mary) Craft, Ottawa, Ont. He was predeceased by sisters, Vivian Garfield and Helen Davidson. In respect for Daryl's wishes, his body was cremated and his ashes will be scattered in a private family ceremony near his home in Maitland Bridge at a later date. There will be no visitation or service. Daryl's wife and family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Kenneth Buchholz, Dr. Lynne Harrigan, Dr. J. Taiani and the nursing staff of Annapolis Community Health Centre for the wonderful care he received. Thanks as well to Mr. Donald Kaulbach of Kaulbach's Funeral Home in Annapolis Royal for his assistance in our time of need. In lieu of flowers, interested parties can make a donation in Daryl's name to either the Maitland Bridge Community Hall, R.R.2, Caledonia, NS B0T 1B0, or Mechanics Lodge No. 78 (Roof Fund), Box 172, Caledonia, NS B0T 1B0, two facilities in his community to which he felt particularly attached.

Just wondering is anyone working on the above surnames would have an information on the WILLIAMS family of Devon, England. Perhaps they were on the same ship?? Humphrey Williams married in England, Elizabeth (Crocker) Williams and arrived in PEI with a large family in 1841. He ran a Tavern called North Devon House in Charlottetown. He died in 1866. If anyone knows about connections between these families, I am interested. Cynthia Hamilton ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
