Hi John Excellent idea. I went through this website and in addition to contacting the city engineer (like you suggest) and the Admiral Digby Museum (like I've already done,) it looks like I could probably call the taxi cab companies, local businesses in the area, police, maintenance department, water department, etc. Somebody has to know. Will be on the phone tomorrow. In addition, I have had quite the response from list members (as usual) with helpful suggestions and ideas and maps. When the river/brook/stream gets named, will be back in touch with an update. Actually Frank I think we need to be looking further north. Wouldn't it be highway 303 (Warwick Street?) that leads to Water Street eventually that was built over this river/stream/etc that I'm looking at? I think 101 runs further to the south of 303. See http://twelch.htohananet.com:80/DigbyTown.htm and find the 2 G ARMSTRONG dwellings. It's this body of water (river, stream, brook, whatever?) that I'm looking for a name. This body of water exists on present day maps but is not named. Hi all Thanks Earl. For those of you interested please go to http://twelch.htohananet.com:80/DigbyTown.htm Then go to the southern part of the Town of Digby. On either side of this river, brook, steam or whatever, there are 2 G. ARMSTRONG dwellings. It is this body of water I'm trying to find the name of. Looks like this body of water exists today and empties into the waters directly south of the Town of Digby. I believe this body of water is called "The Joggins," which is to the west of the Annapolis Basin proper. It might even be considered part of the Annapolis Basin. Hi Wallace I'm not sure. There is a town further up the Annapolis Basin (toward Annapolis Royal) that is called Bear River. Hello all There is a river in the southern part of the Town of Digby (Digby County) that appears to run north/south and eventually flows into "The Joggins" adjacent to the Annapolis Basin. The location of this river is identical to a river that shows up on the A F Church map of 1881 (I have a portion of this map) for the same area. It doesn't appear the river is named in the AF Church map. I spent a good hour last night "surfing the 'net" and looking at present day maps of Digby and Digby County, and while I could see this river on many maps, no maps gave a name to the river. Does anyone know the name of this river? I have a couple of ARMSTRONG relatives that lived on either side of this river back in 1881. Thanks for your help. Pat; I am researching the SNOW's of Cape Breton and download any information that I can gather as I am trying to see if there is a tie in with my SNOW line which originated in Sydney Mines. The line you have on your message, I have an obituary of John Thomas and possibly others. Minnie and Irene are both in my limited data base but you are more than welcome to have what I have. A quick check of my data base has several obituaries of those noted , their spouses or children. I will gather what I have and forward it to you later this date Don

Evening All, I have come across a John Dunn interred in Gibson's Lake Annaplois County. The info I have states was he born 1814/15. The 1881 census states that their was John Dunn of that age in New Brunswick, The 1901 Census states a John Dunn of that era living in Dalhousie. My question is the Gibson's Lake a Cemetery not listed on Annapolis County Web or something else? regards Dave in Shubenacadie No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
