Thanks to contacts made through this mail list I was able to meet up with long distant Greenfield relatives in Gedling. They met us at the All Saints church, had someone ready to let us into the church even. What. A thrill to be standing where my ancestors did over 300 years ago. We got to see the records copied from the parish register with all Greenfield marriages, baptisms etc. not too many Americans get to see this final fruition of their genealogical research. Then the Liptons took us all around the area of the river Trent so we could see the beautiful settings and to the Wollington House mansion park that would have been there when my ancestors were.
