For those who have a subscription to Find my Past, a new blog has been posted on their site in the sub-section "Famous Family Trees", by "experienced family historian" Roy Stockdill (their description, not mine, which nevertheless I agree with). This one concerns Benedict Cumberpatch and is a most interesting read. I wonder if it was one which didn't make the "Who do you 5think you are" series? Brian Binns

My discovery that the Sherlock actor Benedict Cumberbatch had a great-great-uncle who was charged with murder (and acquitted) at the age of 14 in 1893 has made the national papers today (Daily Mail, Daily Express and Radio Times included) but unfortunately they didn't credit me, only Findmypast.
