Jenni Your apology is fully accepted with thanks and absolutely no hard feelings, and I trust this matter will now be allowed to die the death it deserves. I thank those who made some kind posts on my behalf and who pointed out that I have helped many people in the past, both on this and other lists. My only proviso has ever been that I expect those asking for help to demonstrate that they have first made every effort to find for themselves the answer to their query, using the resources available. I really don't see how anyone can say that this is unreasonable. As far as I am concerned, the matter is closed and, hopefully, we can all look forward to Christmas and the renewal of our genealogical researches in 2009 with good spirit.
