    3. Hi All, Can anyone offer advice as to how I can research the possibility of Notts males being involved in military service in Ireland circa 1800? I note that the Union of Ireland legisation was passed by the British Parliment in 1800 (Irish Parliment abolished at that time) and I am wondering if there was any Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire military involvement during this period..?? My Notts ancestor Samuel Bostock (bn abt 1776) had a child born in Dublin in about 1803 to his wife Alice (born Ireland abt 1782) and thus I surmise that he may have married Alice in Ireland circa 1800-02 and feel that if so then he may have been in Ireland at that time due to a military connection..?? The dates reagrding Samuel and Alice come from the Nottm 1841-51 census. Regards, Clive Hayhoe. _________________________________________________________________ Win an Xbox 360 or £200 Top Shop Vouchers http://clk.atdmt.com/GBL/go/115454062/direct/01/

    3. Clive, This note appeared on another list recently. I haven't tried it myself, so don't know what is there. Dai I don't recall seeing mention on the list of this searchable database of church records (baptisms, marriages, burials) for various churches in Dublin: http://www.dublinheritage.ie/ There is more information on the coverage in the downloadable pdfs available at http://www.dublincity.ie/RecreationandCulture/libraries/Heritage%20and %20History/Family%20History/Pages/church_records.aspx Clive Hayhoe wrote: > Hi All, > Can anyone offer advice as to how I can research the possibility of Notts males being involved in military service in Ireland circa 1800? > > Regards, > > Clive Hayhoe. > > > _________________________________________________________________ > Win an Xbox 360 or £200 Top Shop Vouchers > http://clk.atdmt.com/GBL/go/115454062/direct/01/ > > > Notts Surname List > > http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~hughw/notts.html > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to NOTTSGEN-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message > > > >
