Hi   Is there a computer genuious out there? I know this is off topic, but I would appreciate help, but please email off list.   Two weeks ago I was downloading service pack three updates. The installation failed and I pressed the cancel button. On doing this, files started to delete, so I pressed the off button on my processor. When I turned my computer back on all I got was a blue screen with the message " Autocheck programme not found" I tried to re-install windows and that failed and I also tried the recovery disc, but to no avail. i could not do anything with my computer at all, all I kept getting was the same screen with the same message. My computer has been at PC world for two weeks and although they have managed to install windows, they tell my data has been lost. This is 10 years of work and stupidly I have nothing backed up....Obviously, I'm some what upset and feeling rather low, because my family tree is my life and without it I'm stuck....   I use Family tree maker version 6 and I do have a homepage...The dog has chewed my version 6 disc up when he was a puppy....so I haven't even got that. My question is has anyone any idea how I can recover my family tree? any suggestions would be most welcome...Is the tree still there as a GEDCOM File? Kind regards Pat Williams
