Hello, I am new to this site, but I have connections with Sutton-cum-Lound in 1700's. Peter Knight was a cordwainer, born C1777, and married Mary Dale in December 1808. Some time after 1809 (a child was baptised at Mattersey then) they moved to Rawcliffe, near Goole. I am keen to know more about the village in those times and indeed if there was a factor which prompted the move to Rawcliffe. Does anyone out there have information regarding any of these details which they could share with me? Sandra
