Sorry if its already been mentioned (and more use to those of us miles away) but had a good tour round Nottingham City Centre earlier , using the new Street view option in Google maps. Just go here : http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?utm_campaign=en_GB&utm_medium=lp&utm_source=en_GB-lp-emea-gb-gns-svn type a street name , eg Huntingdon Street,Nottingham and on the resulting page select the street-view option that pops up .You just follow the arrows to navigate along the road ,can do 360 degree turns and zoom in too. Last night saw the Thurland Pub where my wife's mum once worked and her Grandmas house off Gordon Road at Thorneywood. "Its an opportunity for those out of the area to see where ancestors lived, that is, if the building hasn't been torn down or the page removed because someone complained ." I know there are privacy issues but for those that have never visited , worth a look !
