Re Nottingham Directories, I have an address and occupation for an ancestor of mine from 1799, which I'm sure that I got from a directory. Stupidly I didn't record the source on FTM, but I'm fairly certain that I got the info from a directory in Notts Archives. They certainly have a Glovers of 1825 as well (I did record that source). You can also get some info from the apprenticeship records there. They also have a Nottingham Poll book of 1754, from which I've got occupations of some of my ancestors too. I don't know if the above directories cover the county, as at the time, I was only looking for the town entries.
