I would suggest this was almost certainly the same man and the son of George and Mary EITCHER, since his given age at death fits very neatly with a birth in 1894. I wonder if his death was as a result of injuries suffered in WWI? -- Roy Stockdill Professional genealogical researcher, writer & lecturer Newbies' Guide to Genealogy & Family History: www.genuki.org.uk/gs/Newbie.html "There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about." I wonder if his death was as a result of > injuries suffered in WWI?> Not quite nearly so sure now! I also note a George William ETCHES born at Basford RD in the Sep qtr of 1895 (7b 265). Equally, this could possibly be the man who married in 1913 and died in 1919. And in my experience, forenames were very often reversed, so George William could have appeared in one record and William George in another. EITCHER, ETCHER and ETCHES are so close it's difficult to separate them, especially as a handwritten "r" could easily look like an "s" and vice versa. I suggest the OP begins thinking along these lines. And the best of luck! -- Roy Stockdill Professional genealogical researcher, writer & lecturer Newbies' Guide to Genealogy & Family History: www.genuki.org.uk/gs/Newbie.html "There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about."
