    1. [NTT] To Nivard Ovington re. Facebook
    2. Nivard, You may very well be right, possibly the email I received did not originate from someone who it seemed to me may have had other intentions that genealogy when using Ancestry.com, and instead as a way to get more information on me and where I lived etc. to use for a way to get my I. D. or to lure me into a scheme to make money. I did take in to account that the fellow could have reversed his first and last name for other reasons.. My suspicions came more from the strange email he wrote. The name reversed was not that significant. I did want to pass it on so others might be cautious though. I should also mention, I did not drop out of Ancestry.com because of this rare incident. I like Ancestry.com and recommend it often to others. Sorry if my post may have gave that impression. You must admit it was very unusual that since I have been on the Nottinghamshire list for many years now, I have never yet received one spam email and infact, not one at all that did not have to do with genealogy from England, but the very next day after I was suspicious of the email received ever from England, I suddenly found that my email box had a lot of them all from Notts. followed each day by a lot more. I don't think that was by chance And after a short time none at all. I did read an article though at least 10 years or so ago, about people using the State Library to gain information on others to begin their theft of I.D.' They may have been name collectors, but not used for adding to a family tree. I welcomed your thoughts but stand by mine. Best of luck to you, Eva B. in the U.S.A.
